Caron Butler (SF) Milwaukee Bucks – 10 percent owned in Yahoo! leagues.
If you’re reading this, it might be too late! Let’s hope not. There is no reason to pass up on adding Caron Butler to your fantasy basketball team. This won’t happen all the time, but all of his 21 points Tuesday against the Magic came from beyond the arc. He also grabbed seven boards. Butler missed the previous four games with an ankle injury so for some it was hard to take that game seriously, from a fantasy perspective.
It was enough for me to want to insert Butler in my starting line up last night against the Nuggets. It helps that Thursday’s are practically a night off in the association with only two or three games on the schedule each week, so I wanted to plug someone in there and Butler ended up impressing again.
The former straw-chewin’ Maverick scored a team-high 17 points while filling up the stat sheet quite nicely – Four rebounds, one assist, one steal, two blocks and a triple. Butler is averaging 30 minutes a game in his last two starts with the Bucks. Probably the best thing about Butler is that he looked healthy and if he can stay in the lineup he will have nobody challenging him for floor time.
Don’t kid yourself, Butler can score. He had a 38 point game earlier in the year against the 76ers and dropped 30 on the Pistons last month. Before last night’s game Butler was owned in four percent of Yahoo! leagues. That number climbed to 10 by the end of the game. People are buying in and I agree with it.
